58-year-old Beaton sets new PDC record with 118 average

Steve Beaton managed to qualify for the German Darts Open via the Tour Card qualifier on Thursday. During the qualifier 'The Bronzed Adonis' also posted a bizarre high average.

The 58-year old threw an average of 118.19 in his match against Jon Worsley. In this match the Englishman threw three 12-darters and an 11-darter.

Never before has a player aged 55 or over thrown an officially registered average of over 115 during a PDC tournament, according to Darts Orakel. Beaton put an end to that on Thursday night.
