Australia is through to the final day of the
World Cup of Darts. With an 8-6 victory over Croatia,
Damon Heta and
Simon Whitlock managed to take their country to the quarter-finals.
The Australians still struggled in the early stages against Boris Krčmar and Romeo Grabavac. The Croatians even went into the break with a 4-3 lead.
However, Australia pushed the accelerator after the break. A 76 finish made it 4-4 before Heta and Whitlock ran out to 7-4 with a 16-darter, 17-darter and a 12-darter.
Yet Croatia did not give up. Via two 16-darters the deficit was reduced to 7-6. However, Australia was allowed to start the fourteenth leg and Heta prevented a deciding leg with a 14-darter.
