Anderson safely through to Quarter-Finals at World Grand Prix after seeing off Noppert

Gary Anderson is safely through to the Quarter-Finals of the World Grand Prix after seeing off Danny Noppert in a straight sets victory.

Anderson who reached the final in 2016 vanquished the Dutchman who has been in superb form as of late and joins Dirk van Duijvenbode and Simon Whitlock so far in the Quarter-Finals.

He eased through the first set without reply averaging 96 to Noppert's 61. It did get a bit more even between the pair though from there.

This was despite Anderson making it five legs in a row with a 74 checkout as he doubled his lead in the second set. Anderson missed four at doubles though to claim the second set and Noppert took out 76 to get off the mark.

He got into the groove and forced a second set decider but missed two darts to claim it and Anderson doubled his lead as a result.

Noppert's resurgence was shortlived though with Anderson going six into a nine-darter before eventually claiming both that leg and the tie from there.
