Ashton qualifies for Women's World Matchplay as Women's Series dominance continues: "It's a dream to play on that stage"

Lisa Ashton continued her PDC Women's Series dominance going from losing in the final in the seventh tournament to defeating Katie Sheldon to win the eighth and conclude the weekend with two titles.

"I'm absolutely happy. I played up and down all of today but I'm happy to get the victory after that so I can't ask for anything better," said Ashton to the PDC.

"I'm happy to win 12. Hopefully fingers crossed I can win a few more."

As a result, she is certain of playing at the Women's World Matchplay and she is looking forward to a local homecoming.

"I just want to get in the tournaments and I'm trying my best. It's a dream to play on that stage, hopefully all my people will support me."

In facing Katie Sheldon in the final, it was another rising star making it all the way who Ashton was full of praise for.

"Katie's a great player. To get to the final is absolutely brilliant to see these young girls come in and hopefully plenty more will follow it."
