German crowds are known as being passionate but also do come under some criticism for whistling and booing with
Nathan Aspinall being targeted seemingly on Thursday night's
Premier League Darts in Berlin.
Aspinall lost 6-4 and was subjected to whistling as he threw which saw him turn around and snap at the audience with the referee stepping in. This is left harder for 'The Asp' who often has to reset himself ahead of throwing the third dart due to previous wrist issues.
“It’s not like Nathan, so there must be something in it," said Webster on commentary which was reiterated by Stuart Pyke. “There was clearly a whistle. The referee went over as well to have a word. Unnecessary [from the member of the crowd].”
"If you're at a live darts event, and the person next to you is whistling when a player is throwing, tell them from me that they're a d*******," said prominent darts commentator Dan Dawson on Twitter.
