Danny Baggish sat down with the PDC recently to discuss his story with the American emerging as a PDC Tour Card holder and living up to his moniker of 'The Gambler' by doing it all on the final day both times at Q-School.
But his story comes from his father which is how he started and also how he initially left the game.
Family is a big part of Florida native and was one of the sticking points in him giving it another go.
"I quit for two years, I held it close to my heart because he was the one that got me into it so he passed away so I was it's my fault. I just held a big grudge on darts itself and I shouldn't have," he said.
"Friends and family, if it wasn't for them I probably wouldn't be playing darts today so they got me back into it. I grew love for the game again."
"If it wasn't for me thinking that I was doing it for my dad and my mom, I use that as my motivation. It helps out big time."
World Championship emergence and return of Pump It Up
He also discussed his maiden World Championship which saw him emerge on the darting landscape after his North American Championship win.
"I didn't realise how significant it was until the after effects of the World Championship beating Andy Boulton in my first appearance and giving Nathan (Aspinall) a run. After that things blew up and I didn't realise how big they would blow up until they happened."
"After that, it's now an eye opener of hey this could be a career."
A feature of his maiden campaign with his Pump It Up walk-on song which has since been used by
Glen Durrant but he revealed that this has since been passed over.
"Glen has passed that onto me. It's not official until I talk to him this week and figure it out. I just love the stage because you're interacting with the fans. They're chanting, they're loving it. I just can't wait to get back to normal."
