"Bigger picture is how amazing this event has been": Humphries looks back fondly on US Darts Masters in New York debut

Luke Humphries had his sights set on the US Darts Masters title, but ended up narrowly missing out on a final place against top local player Jeff Smith.

The former World Youth Champion went down in the semi-final against Smith, who managed to produce a sensational 167 finish in the deciding leg.

The disappointment soon dissipated for Humphries, who could nevertheless look back on the tournament positively a few days later.

"The most amazing experience this week in New York 🇺🇸 I would of loved to have won this weekend, but the bigger picture is how amazing this event has been," said Humphries on Twitter.

"All the players, staff, and PDC officials were all incredible! The fans were out of this world, hope to be back next year.
