Boylesports are supporting Parkinson's UK at this years World Grand Prix that will take place at the Morningside Arena on October 3rd till the 9th.
BoyleSports are the title sponsor for this event and they have confirmed that for every match in the World Grand Prix that their "Full House" market is achieved they will donate £500 to Parkinson's UK.
A "Full House" is when a player wins the match, gets the most 180's in a match and the highest checkout too.
Last year the sponsors donated £10,000 to Parkinson's UK after a great week of darts which saw Jonny Clayton get the title.
Clayton boosted the pot by £1000 at the 2021 World Grand Prix as he got two full houses in the tournament which saw the total reach £6,000 by the time he made the final. BoyleSports then decided to increase the donation to £10,000 after a great seven days of darts.
This is what Leon Blanche, Head of Communications for BoyleSports had to say:
''Many of us know someone affected by Parkinson’s and we are pleased to champion a charity close to so many peoples’ hearts.
''With the likes of defending champion Jonny Clayton, Gerwyn Price, Michael van Gerwen and Dave Chisnall taking part, we are certain we’ll see the full house landing throughout the week and we’ll be cheering on each and every player knowing that it will support such a worthy cause.” Former Sky Sports darts presenter Dave Clark is a high-profile supporter of the organisation, and he added: “A big thank you to BoyleSports for once again supporting Parkinson’s UK, a cause that is close to my heart.
"I’ve been living with Parkinson’s for 11 years now. It’s not always been easy, it’s a relentless and unpredictable condition, but I’m determined to stay positive and live the best possible life I can.
"There are around 145,000 people in the UK who like me, face the daily challenges that Parkinson’s can throw at you – so finding new and better treatments just can’t wait.
''Parkinson's UK have made huge breakthroughs in the last 50 years, but there is still no cure and current treatments are not good enough, and the money raised during the BoyleSports World Grand Prix will help drive that forward and make a big difference to everyone living with Parkinson's.''
