Dave Chisnall is the first player through to the World Grand Prix final after defeating Glen Durrant to continue his excellent form this week on the Emerald Isle.

Chisnall has gone under the radar of sorts but will have another chance to win a maiden major title and he will take on Michael van Gerwen or Chris Dobey.

The St Helens ace took an early lead in set one with a whitewash set as he cemented an early advantage over the three time Lakeside champion.

He came back though smashing in a brilliant 154 checkout to lead 2-0 with Chisnall sitting on 76 to claw his way back into the tie.

It was another whitewash in this set but the opposite this time as he was averaging around 94 at this point and playing well to put that first set behind him.

Chisnall found a brilliant 170 checkout to level the third set in another step forward. From there he concluded the set taking out 52 with Durrant sitting on 57, it was up to his opponent to turn the heat on now.

He continued that to go one away soaking up pressure from Durrant who missed double 20 for a 101 checkout to seal it himself. Chizzy broke Durrant's throw and was one leg away, could he get over the line?

Durrant stayed alive with a 112 checkout; but Chisnall concluded it in an impressive win which included a 91.17 average and 57 percent on his doubles.
