Chris Dobey solidifies lead on Players Championship Order of Merit

Chris Dobey has significantly strengthened his lead on the Players Championship Order of Merit after winning his third Players Championship title of the season. After 25 of 30 tournaments, he stands at £91,000 in prize money.

Dobey won the 25th Players Championship tournament of the season on Wednesday by defeating Stephen Bunting in the final. Earlier this year, 'Hollywood' also captured the title at Players Championship 7 and 19.

Bunting, who reached three Players Championship finals this season but lost them all, is in second place with 72,500 pounds. This leaves him behind Damon Heta on countback for the time being. Following behind are Gary Anderson (71,000 pounds), Dave Chisnall (70,000 pounds), Luke Littler (67,000 pounds) and Ryan Searle (66,000 pounds).

Ryan Searle and Ross Smith follow in seventh and eighth place, before Danny Noppert is the highest-ranked Dutchman in ninth. Jonny Clayton completes the top-10.

At the end of the season, the top-64 of the Players Championship Order of Merit may compete in the Players Championship Finals in Minehead. One more Players Championship tournament will be played this week. Later this month, the final four Players Championships will be completed.
