James Wade is through to the Quarter-Finals of the
World Series of Darts Finals albeit after a 6-4 win over Leonard Gates that he described as 'awful'.
"I played awful. I was thankful that my opponent was worse than me but I'm through to the next round," said Wade to DartsActueel.
This led to Wade being honest about himself and his frame of mind surrounding darts with the recent World Series and Premier League meaning a 'grueling' period.
"I am in mixed minds with what I'm doing in my career at the moment and me as a person. If I wake up tomorrow and I feel good whoever I play it doesn't really matter, I'm probably not in the right place or best frame of mind to be the best of what I can be.
"I've got other things going on in my life. I was very grateful to be involved in the Premier League and World Series, it's just bloody hard. I don't think people appreciate how hard it is to do all the PDC requirements and the qualifications
"But when you do get picked for a World Series or Premier League, you feel lucky and really grateful but it's hard work, it's a grueling schedule but as a player you keep going and do what you need to do."
