Jonny Clayton added his second TV title of the year with his Premier League triumph which acted as another catalyst in the rise of 'The Ferret'.
Clayton dropped in on his manufacturer, Red Dragon to discuss the aftermath of winning one of the biggest crowns in World Darts.
"It sounds good doesn't it, it's a brilliant feeling. In the beginning, I thought to win the Masters. I'd have a chance to get in there because we didn't know so obviously I was told after winning The Masters, that was a massive plus in my book anyway. I thought to myself just go and enjoy, it doesn't matter if you come 10th. To win it, a fantastic feeling, an underdog and I came through," he said to Red Dragon.
"The World Cup to me, that feeling was probably one of the best feelings that I'll ever have as a dart player because we were the first ones to do it for Wales. It just meant so much, we were 2nd or third favourites to win that but it was my first big tournament to win on stage. But obviously, the Premier League that's a different kettle of fish.
"It's the second biggest tournament that's on TV. I don't think anybody gave me a chance to win in that but I proved people wrong."
Change in mindset
In terms of what has changed in him claiming these major titles, Clayton believes it is down to his mindset.
"There's nothing changed as in what I do. But the massive difference is confidence. I don't worry about anybody else, I just go and play darts. I've proven to myself that I can do it. When you believe in yourself, I think that is more important than anything."
Leaving job
The question always rears it's head about his job and his stance has not changed despite his darting rise.
"Darts to me is a hobby, it's not my job. I started to play darts on a Thursday night after rugby training. I've worked since I was 16, so my point of view, there's nothing changed. I think with work, it takes your mind off the pressure of darts."
