Jonny Clayton has qualified for the quarter-finals of the Grand Slam of Darts at the expense of Nathan Rafferty. In the last eight, a clash with compatriot and world champion Gerwyn Price awaits for The Ferret.
Only in the first two legs could Rafferty keep up with his Welsh opponent. Clayton opened with a 148 finish, after which Rafferty made it 1-1 with a 106 check-out. After that The Ferret ran out to a 5-1 lead.
The 21-year-old Rafferty got on the scoreboard for the second time in the seventh leg, this time with a 124 finish. Clayton then took another five consecutive legs to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the event in Wolverhampton.
