As the resurgence of
Colin Osborne continues to pick up steam, the Wizard as he's known has rejoined
Winmau Darts after over five years away.
“Being formally back with Winmau is great and it feels amazing to be part of a team again and to have the opportunity to succeed in the sport that I love," the 47-year-old tells the official Winmau Darts website. "I have a lot of work to do, but I am more than up for the challenges that the modern game brings in all its formats.”
Osborne, a UK Open runner-up and Championship League Darts winner in his 2009 pomp but hasn't appeared at the PDC World Darts Championship since a 3-0 first-round defeat to Brendan Dolan in 2014. According to Winmau, Osborne is returning with "a renewed sense of purpose and ambition."
"Seeing Colin back with us on a formal deal is such a great story and reward for the strength of mind that he has as a player and his dedication," Winmau Marketing Director, Simon Hall says. "He could have easily given up and played recreationally but that was never Colin's dream, and we're very pleased to be able to support him down the final stretch back into the top level of professional darts where we know he believes he can be."
