Damon Heta has sealed an eighth PDC title and a second ProTour title of the season defeating Ryan Joyce 8-4 at Players Championship 16 in Leicester.

Heta has been a perennial winner on the ProTour since joining the PDC Tour and heads into the World Matchplay with another confidence boost hoping to bring that form into a major tournament.

Both held to begin the tie. Heta missed 70 for a break and Joyce found double four for 2-1. A 104 checkout saw Heta make it 2-2.

Joyce continued to hold with a 48 checkout. Heta broke to make it 4-3 and consolidated to go three away from the finish.

Heta missed 140 to go 6-3 up but Joyce was way back. ‘The Heat’ fluffed his lines but returned for double five again.

Joyce hit a 78 checkout to stop the rot and break back. But Heta broke straight back to go one away and he sealed it from there even being on a nine-darter in the final leg before finishing it off.

The Players Championship tournaments are broadcast via a live stream. Through the streaming service, four stream lanes are available per tournament. All matches from the four stream lanes will be broadcast live via PDCTV.

The PDC has provided a prize pool of £3 million for the Players Championship circuit. At each Players Championship tournament, 100,000 in prize money is distributed. Reaching the second round earns £750. This eventually rises to £12,000 for the winner of the tournament.
