Daryl Gurney throws highest average during Players Championship 27 with ridiculous 117.12

Daryl Gurney managed to throw the highest average of the tournament on Friday during the tournament's 27th Players Championship tournament. 'Superchin' was one of two players to record an average above 110.

The Northern Irishman threw a 117.12 per turn average in his match against Ian White. Michael Smith also reached a particularly high average. However, despite his average of 111.38, Smith lost to Darryl Pilgrim, who managed to produce a return average of 106.58 in the same match.

In total, there were eleven players who managed to throw above the 105 average. Besides Gurney, Smith and Pilgrim, these were Gary Anderson (108.81), Gian van Veen (106.91), Niels Zonneveld (106.50), Ross Smith (106.30), Ryan Searle (105.82), Ian White (105.21), Rob Cross (105.10) and Stephen Bunting (105.02).
