Earlier this month, Rowby-John Rodriguez had to withdraw from the Hungarian Darts Trophy after his daughter was hospitalised due to heart problems.
The Austrian came out with an update on his daughter's health on Friday. Rodriguez was fortunately able to bring good news. ''We can say with relief that our daughter was discharged from the hospital. And we're home again. The past few days/weeks have been extremely stressful.''

Rodriguez said complications occurred during treatment. Our daughter underwent a surgery where we are usually discharged after 3 days. But this time, her condition worsened from there. The diagnosis was acute right heart failure. Alicia had to be transferred to the intensive care unit immediately and we feared for her life - hoping that the many medications would help keep her heart beating. The very next day it was clear that only an operation can prevent the worst.''
Donor
Rodriguez's daughter received a new pulmonary valve from a donor. ''The gratitude cannot be put into words - that other parents had to let their child go and spoke out in favor of organ donation and give others a second chance.''
''We know she doesn't have a healthy heart. She will always need medical intervention. Life has taught us to enjoy every second with her, because this time we realized how close life and death are to each other...''
