Jose de Sousa will face Jonny Clayton shortly in the final of the 2021
Premier League Darts after a nail-biting 10-9 victory over
Nathan Aspinall in the second semi-final.
De Sousa produced eight 180's and two ton-plus checkouts and will now aim to add to his Grand Slam of Darts breakout triumph last year.
Also third time in history including last year's final between Glen Durrant and Nathan Aspinall, there is a final with two debutants.
It was a semi-final which had all the drama including trademark miscounts from De Sousa who bust 37 with 47 early on and Aspinall made it 2-2.
This was repeated with De Sousa squandering four darts at doubles after leaving seven and it was 4-4.
But while it remained close, the legs ticked down for Aspinall who was unable to claim a break of throw which would send him ahead of De Sousa.
De Sousa crashed in a 121 checkout to make it 9-8 and Aspinall replied back with a 74 checkout to send it all the way but a timely 171 allowed Aspinall only a shot at 145 as 'The Special One' pinned double six for a dramatic win.
