An incident between
Michael van Gerwen and
Jonathan Worsley which occurred on the final day of the PDC
Winter Series will be investigated by the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA).
Van Gerwen confirmed on Saturday evening that the two players had an altercation as per Worsley's reports earlier in the day. He acknowledged that he called Worsley a 'rat' several times and that as a result the Welshman tried to 'lay his hands' on the World Number One.
This led to Worsley being kicked out of the tournament and as a result, Daryl Gurney received a bye. Now a PDC spokesperson has said that it has been forwarded onto the
DRA.
"The matter has been referred to the DRA, who would decide if there are any charges to answer."
This comes after Van Gerwen said the issue had "been dealt with by the PDC and we move on" but on the DRA side both players may still have charges to answer to.
