It is a dream debut for Adam Warner on the European Tour who is through his first round at the German Darts Grand Prix with a tie against Michael Smith next up in Munich.
Warner saw off Mario Vandenbogaerde in a 6-4 win punishing a bust on 121 and a shocking miscount which saw the new Tour Card holder hit a 112 checkout to make it 4-2 and follow it up with a 6-4 win sealing it with a 12-darter on double 16.
While despite some needle at the end, it was all business for Keane Barry who now faces Rob Cross tomorrow. He saw off Andy Boulton 6-3 with a high checkout of 144 en route.
Also the Germans had their first home hero through with Dragutin Horvat fending off a spirited comeback from Scott Waites from 4-1 down to seal a 6-4 win. Dave Chisnall awaits.
