Gilding safely moves past Kanik as De Zwaan mounts comeback to deny Dolan with showstopping conclusion

Andrew Gilding and Jeffrey de Zwaan are the last two players through from the opening session of action at the German Darts Grand Prix in Munich with differing routes through.

Gilding eased past Tytus Kanik with the UK Open champion sealing a routine 6-1 win over the returning Pole as Jonny Clayton awaits for 'Goldfinger'. While for De Zwaan, he produced a mammoth comeback to see off Brendan Dolan 6-5.

De Zwaan was staring down the barrel of defeat at 3-0 and 4-1 down but forced a decider against 'The History Maker' and produced a blockbuster conclusion despite not needing to with Dolan way back.

He hit a superb 150 checkout on double 18 worth the celebration from the Dutchman who now nearly pain free will look to make strides again.
