A Dutch debutant on the PDC Pro Tour this weekend. Alexander Merkx will compete in a Players Championship tournament on Saturday and Sunday for the first time in his career.
Because a number of Tour Card holders did not register for the two Players Championship tournaments in Hildesheim, Germany, a good number of Challenge Tour players may make their appearance on the Pro Tour.
One of these substitutes is Merkx, who is currently ranked 20th on the PDC Challenge Tour Order of Merit. Merkx reached one final on the Challenge Tour earlier this year and also reached two quarter-finals.
