The European Tour will return this weekend for the first time in a while after the World Matchplay and World Series meant an extended break.
It all begins with the
Austrian Darts Championship which takes place at the Multiversum Schewechat in Vienna starting Friday. What players will be battling for at this point of the season will be spots in the European Championship in Gottingen in October.
The top 32 players will do battle from the final 2019
European Tour Order of Merit where they will play for a £120,000 top prize.
Other events include a double in Germany in two well-known European Tour venues in Mannheim and Riesa. It all ends with the yearly visit to Gibraltar.
Michael van Gerwen tops the standings on the European Tour and it is where he has had the bulk of his title wins this years. He has already won £115,000 on the tour and despite slowing down since then he is still the man to beat.
The same can be said for Ian White who has been the star of the show in many ways this season. Daryl Gurney, Dave Chisnall and Jamie Hughes have also impressed and have all won titles.
With four events to go though, places are still very much up for grabs for Gottingen so it will be an interesting return for the European Tour starting this weekend.
