"Focus on positives, rather than negatives": Nathan Aspinall opens up on difficult times and psychologist help

Nathan Aspinall currently ranks fourth in the world rankings and is a two-time major winner. Yet things did not always go smoothly for the 32-year-old who has since turned it around but not without help.

"Last year was hard with the injury. But what do you do with that, you seek help and people that are professional in that industry. That's what I did" said Aspinall to Abigail Davies on the Beyond the Oche Documentary for Sky Sports.

"I spoke to a sports psychologist. He worked absolute wonders on me to try and reprogram my head. Focus on the positives, rather than the negatives."

After ascending the top of the sport winning the UK Open, the spiral was pretty downward and unforgiving for Aspinall. He even thought about his darting future due to a wrist problem which saw him not able to release the dart at certain junctures. But it is living proof that the help is there.
