On Sunday morning, stats ace Burton DeWitt shared a gem regarding Gary Anderson.

"Gary Anderson tonight is trying to become the 7th player to win 10+ major/premier darts tournaments," DeWitt tweeted. The Flying Scotsman duly obliged. His 11-7 defeat of Corey Cadby sealed a maiden UK Open title. The 47-year-old is the ninth player in the history of darts to reach ten major or premier victories. Tournaments that count as 'premier' are large-scale TV events that are not considered majors. The Premier League is a prime example.
Anderson has two Premier League wins, on top of his new UK Open crown. The Scot has two World Championship titles, plus a Players Championship Finals win. During his BDO years, Anderson won four major trophies. Two Finder Masters victories, an International Darts League and a World Darts Trophy completes his set. He goes level on ten wins with John Lowe, the three-time world champion.
He has a lot of work to do in order to move up the list. Anderson's next target is Trina Gulliver, who is eight titles ahead. Raymond van Barneveld has 21 big wins, and Eric Bristow has 24. Michael van Gerwen is the youngest of the group, but has a 28-strong collection. But that pales in comparison to the whopping 77 accrued by Phil Taylor.
