Fallon Sherrock was at it again on Sunday night at the
Grand Slam of Darts. 'The Queen of the Palace' added
Martijn Kleermaker to the names of Mike de Decker and Gabriel Clemens on her growing list of scalps on the Wolverhampton stage.
Going down to a deciding leg, Sherrock kept her cool to keep her hopes of reaching the knockout stages alive. "I just wanted to win. I was like, just hold your throw, just hold your throw and I kept messing up like on the 82," she reflects post-match to Online Darts. "I couldn't tell you how I deal with it or anything like that. It just kind of happens but yeah, when someone puts me under pressure I prefer it rather than just running through a game because then I get complacent."

Michael van Gerwen and Rob Cross, Sherrock will now face off with 'Voltage' in a winner-takes-all tie with progression to the last 16 on the line. "With two world champions you know, even if I can just kind of keep up with them like with Michael, I kept up with him and he had to produce his A-game. So going into the next game, if I can just keep up with Rob, we'll see how the result pans out."
On the opening group game with van Gerwen, Sherrock reveals she drew a lot of confidence from it despite the heavy, 5-1 scoreline. "It kind of gave me confidence with how I played against him because if I'd have gone in there and played really badly, I don't think my confidence would be as high. He didn't give me time to think or get complacent or anything so going into this game, I was like okay I know what I've got to do."
Sunday was a historic day for ladies' darts as alongside Sherrock's success,
Beau Greaves also triumphed over Ricardo Pietreczko. "For women's darts in general, having both of us winning is really good but I'm here to focus on my game, she's here to focus on her game."
