Highest average for Gary Anderson at Players Championship 3

The third Players Championship of the year was finished yesterday in Leicester. Victory went to Ryan Searle, who was too strong for Gary Anderson in the final 8-7.

Anderson achieved a higher average in the final with 108.61 than Searle (107.63). The Scot even had three higher averages earlier in the day. In the opening round he defeated Jeffrey de Graaf 6-3 to reach 112.02 average, no one did better in Leicester on Monday.

With 111.71 (in his semifinal against Callan Rydz) and 109.35 (at the last 32 against Jim Williams), the four highest averages were for Anderson.

Even more notable was the performance of Dimitri Van den Bergh. Despite a very high average (106.14) he went down 6-3 in the last 32 against Steve Lennon. The Irishman with an average of 104.43 was hardly inferior to Van den Bergh.

As you can see from the list below, the level at Players Championship 3 was particularly high.
