Martin Schindler heads into tonight's final session of Groups A-D action with fate in his hands at the
Grand Slam of Darts with victory over Adam Gawlas seeing 'The Wall' set up a winner takes all clash with Rob Cross.
"I think Adam was scoring really good and really heavy at the start so it made it difficult for me to stay in connection with him so I needed to take out like 150 in the middle of the game. I couldn't get my scoring like he did but I was lucky that in the middle of the game he missed the doubles so I got the chance to get my leg and then I broke," said Schindler post match.
"The pressure was on me because I know I played good and I wasn't playing bad yesterday but Dirk was very good when he needed to be. Today wasn't an easy game, I was happy that I got through in the end and hopefully I can do something like that tomorrow."
He spoke about having that shot now and that it's a different complexion to previous iterations he has played in but one he hopes to take advantage of.
"If I look at the other three Grand Slams I played, it was always like after the first two games you're out but this time I still have the chance of my own and hopefully I can do one better this time."
