"Hopefully I can lift my first title of the year" - After 113 average Nathan Aspinall full of confidence at International Darts Open

Nathan Aspinall has particularly convincingly qualified for the last sixteen of the International Darts Open. 'The Asp' defeated Jonny Clayton 6-2 in the second round.

Aspinall particularly impressed, posting an average of over 113. "If Chris Dobey is watching, that's how you play darts! His 111 average was no good," laughed the 32-year-old Englishman post-match. "Fantastic performance there and it had to be, we all know how good Jonny is."

"My scoring was amazing, finishing was good and Jonny pushed me. But, a great crowd as always and I'm looking forward to playing in front of them again tomorrow!" Aspinall continued.

Aspinall will take on Danny Noppert on Sunday afternoon in the last sixteen. Noppert defeated Dimitri Van den Bergh in the second round, 6-4. "Danny is playing really well this year," Aspinall assesses. "We've had some fantastic battles in the past and I'm sure tomorrow will be the same. Hopefully I can lift my first title of the year."
