Kim Huybrechts apologized to Luke Humphries for his statements after his defeat at the World Championship. The Belgian showed his frustration after losing to the current World Youth Champion.
”I’m a thousand times better than Luke Humphries. I have not showed that and I cannot lose matches like this anymore”, were among the quotes Huybrechts used in his interview with the Dutch press.
The two-time major finalist now regrets those comments. ''I would like to apologize to Luke and his family for my words. It’s no excuse but I was very frustrated after my match playing so poorly! I used a lot of wrong words in my interview and feel bad for it. Luke is a topplayer and a world champion and i need to respect that!
''I’ve done myself and Luke no good by my post match interview. I wish him all the best in the next rounds and once again apologize for my words to everyone who feels offended.''
