Since last year, the Premier League Darts has been played out in a new format, with each night day of the regular phase featuring matches in tournament form from the quarter-finals onwards.
However, Kim Huybrechts, a former Premier League participant himself, has reservations about it. "Of course it remains a top competition with the strongest players in the world, but because the same matches come back so often, it is no longer the case that I am glued to my screen every week," 'The Hurricane' told 433 Darts.
The 37-year-old Belgian therefore advocates a new format. "A system with two divisions, from which you can promote and relegate, seems like something to me. So you could have the second division played on Friday, prior to a Pro Tour tournament. It would create extra excitement, I think."
