"I didn't play my best game but I should have won anyway": Dejected Dirk van Duijvenbode misses out on maiden European Tour title

Dirk van Duijvenbode spurned three match darts to seal his maiden European Tour title as Gerwyn Price won his seventh at the European Darts Open in Leverkusen.

Left dejected as expected post match, he believes he should've won and the margin shouldn't have even been close in the end but that in sealing the win, Price showed his class.

"I didn't play my best game but I should have won anyway," said Van Duijvenbode.

"It is what it is. I don't think it should be that close, I could have [had] some bigger distance [between us] at the beginning, and in the end there's no holding him back.

"That's just the class he has. He's never afraid, he takes out the 108."
