Prior to taking to the stage for the Premier League Darts last Thursday in Sheffield, Dimitri Van den Bergh made an appearance at a local school for Bullseye Maths.
"It was wonderful to experience Bullseye Maths for the first time in person and I really enjoyed meeting the pupils at Oasis Academy Don Valley," Van den Bergh told the official PDC website of his experience of going back to school. "I'm a big supporter of getting children involved with darts and Bullseye Maths is a fun way for them to learn about the numbers involved in the game."
Bullseye Maths is an initiative brought in by the PDC as a means to bring fun to numeracy through darts and Van den Bergh's appearance at the Oasis Academy Don Valley in Sheffield is just the latest in this successful scheme.
"The children had a fantastic time experiencing maths learning in a unique and fun way, whilst giving their calculations a context and purpose," said Robert Barr from Oasis Academy Don Valley. "A number of the children had never thrown a dart before, but I was soon inundated with dartboard requests, which sums up how much they enjoyed it. A big thank you too all involved."
Dimitri Van den Bergh is the 24th player to join the 100-Euro-Tour-Games club. However his record is nothing to write home about… he won 48 and lost 52.#CDO23 I #Darts I #ET8
