Gerwyn Price has defiantly hit back at the media with a piece in The Mirror newspaper based off quotes by himself and also former World Champion,
Dennis Priestley mooting retirement.
Price wrote on his Instagram page sharing a screenshot of the report that he is 'here to stay and for a very long time' with the hashtag Iceman Forever.
"Just to clarify and let everyone know not to believe everything you read, media are and always will be full of s***. I'm here to stay and for a very long time," he wrote.
This after the Mirror quoted Priestley in quotes supplied by OLBG saying that he believes that Price will retire and it could be this winter at the PDC World Darts Championship.
"Given Gerwyn Price's previous retirement hints, the World Championships could quite possibly be his last in darts," said 'Dennis the Menace'.
"It's all down to his will and his attitude, but it's not looking good. When he has those battles with the crowds, it either gets to him or he feeds off it but it looks like it's getting to him now.
They also utilised previous quotes from Price in an interview with Online Darts where he said that he would no longer put darts first as their link towards a potential retirement pending.
"I think, in previous years, it's been darts first and family life after but that's going to change now," he said previously to Online Darts. "It's going to be family life first, darts after. My main priority is back at home.
"When I first started, I was eager, I wanted to win, I wanted to be in everything and now, I've sort of done everything I've wanted to do and I don't have that urgency anymore. Hopefully it'll come back.
"I'll keep trying as long as I can you know, but yeah, now the chippy is doing well you never know, retirement could be sooner rather than later."
