The Spanish team for the 2024 World Cup of Darts has been confirmed. Jesús Noguera and José Justicia will represent their country after they managed to get through the Spanish qualifying tournament held last weekend.
Because there are no longer and Spaniards on the PDC Pro Tour, there were no permanent designation spots. Dozens of Spanish darters had the chance to compete at a major tournament for their country through a qualifying tournament. But it was the established Spanish names who managed to make it to the final stage of the qualifier.
The first final was one between former World Cup participants Jose Justicia and Toni Alcinas. Justicia managed to win the duel 4-3. The other final was also decided in a deciding leg. Jesus Noguera secured a spot on the Spanish team by beating Angel Pitu 4-3.
For Justicia, it will be his fourth consecutive participation in the World Cup of Darts. The Joker has not yet been very successful for his country. In 2021 he already formed a team with Noguera, but then they lost 5-4 to South Africa. In the past two years, Justicia had Tony Martinez as a partner. Together they went down immediately in 2022 against host Germany (5-4). Due to the new format, Spain came into action twice during the pool phase in 2023. They lost 4-2 to South Africa, leaving the Spaniards nothing to gain from the 4-2 victory over Iceland.
The 2024 World Cup of Darts is scheduled for June 27-30 in Frankfurt. Welsh duo Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton are the defending champions at the World Cup of Darts.
