Klaasen reflects ahead of PDC Home Tour Championship Group: "I have not really shown my best darts yet, but that was not really necessary"

Jelle Klaasen is the only Dutchman to be in the final of the PDC Home Tour on Friday evening. The Cobra had to win through three groups on its way to the Championship Group.

With that, Klaasen surprised himself, he tells RTL 7. "Not because I can't handle it, but because waiting is not really my game," he refers to the short interruption between each leg in playing online.

Also, the former Lakeside champion has not yet shown his best game. "I have not really shown my best darts yet, but that was not really necessary. I did exactly what I had to do."

In his first group, Klaasen settled smoothly with Gabriel Clemens, Gavin Carlin and Ryan Meikle. "I won quite simply against Clemens and he was the most dangerous in the group for me," said Klaasen, who lost his last game. “The concentration was gone then. But in itself it was easy in this group. ”

The Cobra knocks out Snakebite

In the Last 32, Klaasen ended up in a group with among others, Peter Wright. In the deciding game, the World Champion was knocked out 6-1.

"Wright hadn't even got through the first round. He needed a second chance," says Klaasen. “It wasn't the Peter Wright we know. He was not scoring well and he did not take his chances," the 35-year-old Dutchman said.

Subsequently, in the semi-finals, he was already confirmed a final spot after two matches. Klaasen won his matches against Dave Chisnall and Mike de Decker, as a result, his match against Gary Anderson no longer mattered.

That means that Klaasen will compete against Anderson, Nathan Aspinall and Jonny Clayton in the final. However, The Cobra does not yet know if there is still a financial bonus to being involved in the final.

"I know we all get an amount to play in the final, but I don't know if there is an extra bonus for finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th. I assume we will hear about that."
