Leonard Gates is the second player through to the US Darts Masters and North American Championship joining Jeff Smith so far in the line-up with two more qualifiers set to take place.

On Tuesday and Wednesday four qualifiers are being held. The winners of each of the four Qualifiers qualify for the US Darts Masters and they will be joined by the top four players from the Qualifiers Order of Merit. The World Series event in Las Vegas will be played on Thursday and Friday.
Gates himself is a well-known figure to those who follow the CDC (Championship Darts Circuit) and Soft Tip darts with 'Soldier' winning two CDC and three DartsLive titles in the past few years.
He has never been able to get through qualifying for this tournament in the past few years though until now. Gates saw off the likes of John Norman Jnr. in the final despite the pair both averaging in the 67 range.
Also he defeated World Cup of Darts and World Championship participant Jim Long in a 4-1 win; as well as the impressive Matt Campbell who lost out to Jeff Smith in the first qualifier final.
