Jeff Smith defends his North American Darts Championship title on Thursday as 'The Silencer' came through the first qualifier on Tuesday evening. He will also compete during the US Darts Masters later this week.
On Tuesday and Wednesday four qualifiers are being held. The winners of each of the four Qualifiers qualify for the US Darts Masters and they will be joined by the top four players from the Qualifiers Order of Merit. The
World Series event in Las Vegas will be played on Thursday and Friday.
Smith beat Matt Campbell in the final. The former Lakeside finalist stormed into final as he dropped only six legs in his six matches en route to the final. Campbell became the surprise-package of the tournament, averaging over 80 in all his games including a superb 108 average in his third match against Roger Carter (4-2). The final went all the way, with Smith hitting a 13-dart leg in the decider.
