Mardle believes Sherrock shouldn't be considered for Premier League after Beaton loss: "That performance wasn't good enough"

Fallon Sherrock lost out on her return to the Alexandra Palace at the 2021/22 PDC World Darts Championship with Steve Beaton accounting for the Queen of the Palace.

But where does she go from here? Wayne Mardle believes she should take confidence from it but also not with the fact she now has to go to Q-School.

"She should be more confident, yes she is better but it's kind of all gone a little bit wrong with that defeat to Steve (Beaton) because it means she has to go to Q-School which is brutal. To just win one outright rather than doing the whole four days and accumulating enough points is the most likely route for her," said Mardle on Sky Sports.

Many including Mardle tipped Sherrock for a Premier League spot during the Grand Slam of Darts but nearly a month on, he has back tracked those comments.

"I was waxing lyrical during the Grand Slam saying why not consider her for a Premier League place because of the way she was playing. But I really do think that's got to be forgotten about and be on the backburner because that performance wasn't good enough to warrant a Premier League spot."
