Marijanovic explains why he handed in PDC Tour Card: 'If someone is not prepared to give everything, there's little point in trying'

Robert Marijanovic won a two-year PDC Tour Card at the Q-School in 2021, but decided to return his Tour Card after one year.

Incidentally, in his first year, 'The Robstar' also made little use of his access to the Pro Tour circuit. Marijanovic played only four of the 30 Players Championship tournaments.

''I gave up my Tour Card for personal reasons because my life circumstances have also changed and I have other priorities'', he explained to Dartsnews.de. ''If someone is not prepared to give everything for a darts career, both financially and in terms of time, then I think there is little point in trying.''

''At the moment, darts on the professional circuit is out of the question for me. I don't have that motivation. Of course that could change again, but as I said, if my head is not 100 per cent on it, I'd rather make way for others who have more motivation."

Marijanovic does, however, plan to compete in the Q-School again in 2023, if only because he will also be able to compete on the PDC Challenge Tour. ''At least at the Challenge Tour tournaments in Germany. Everything else I can only decide when I have more planning certainty for 2023."
