Nathan Aspinall has some grand plans.

The 27-year-old, and former world youth finalist, has yet to make an impact at majors. But Aspinall firmly believes that he can make it to the very top. "My first aim is to qualify for as many TV events as possible and obviously the worlds after the recent announcement," he told sports journalist Josh Green from Aspinall was referring to the PDC's of the World Championship. The field has been extended to 96 players, which will offer more opportunities to make it to the Ally Pally. The Asp isn't content with simply reaching the PDC's top tournament. "Then (the aim is to) get into the world's top 64 and then climb up the rankings, and then hopefully one day become the world champion." An inspiration for the Stockport thrower and his peers is Rob Cross, who went from amateur to world champion in the space of a year. "What Rob did last year was simply unreal," he said. "It just shows if you're dedicated and put the hours in you can achieve anything. He worked hard and he got his reward in becoming world champ."
