Not just a tournament win but highest average for Gary Anderson at Players Championship 2

Not only was Gary Anderson victorious in winning Players Championship 2 yesterday on the PDC's ProTour, he also secured the highest average of the tournament on route to the title.

Alongside averaging 101.14 in beating Ryan Searle 8-5 in the final - a match where he missed D12 twice for a nine-darter - to notch his 28th Players Championship win, the Flying Scotsman featured three times in the events highest averages.

His campaign featured two whitewashes. Firstly over Adam Gawlas where averaged 106.09 and secondly over Andy Baetens where he hit his highest ever average at a PDC event - 117.12 - beating his previous best average of 115.15 from a Players Championship event in 2017.

While Neils Zonneveld (108.76 against Rob Cross) and Mike De Decker (108.19 against Martijn Dragt) featured high on the list, Anderson secured three of the top five highest averages, beating Peter Wright in the semi-finals with a 108 average.
