O'Connor proud after run to World Cup of Darts final: It's a dream come true

William O'Connor has spoke of his pride of reaching the final of the World Cup of Darts for the Republic of Ireland despite losing out in the end to Scotland.

O'Connor said it was a dream come true but that it was a pity that they couldn't go a little further and claim the title. He also gave plaudits to the Scottish pairing and said they threw some 'unreal darts' in the end.

This marks another milestone for 'The Magpie' who has recently claimed a maiden PDC ranking event and has now reached his first TV final and based off this past weekend, this could lead to even more for both him and Steve Lennon.

"I'll look back on the whole tournament positively. Myself and Steve are in the final of the World Cup, it's a dream come true.

"I knew we could do it and it's a pity we couldn't go that one step further. I'm proud to represent Ireland.

"Scotland threw some unreal darts in the final, and the fans were absolutely fantastic all weekend."
