Parletti after bowing out of Grand Slam with victory over O'Connor: 'It's been an amazing experience that will probably live with me for the rest of my life'

Parletti added that he came into proceedings thinking he had nothing to lose and that it just clicked for him. He added that he will finally banish all the stick he gets from his mates for never winning a game on TV and that he is doing it for his kids.

'It's been an amazing experience that will probably live with me for the rest of my life. It'll set me on good stead for next year so hopefully I can kick on now and we will see what happens next,' said Parletti to LiveDarts.

'I came here today thinking I've got nothing to lose and it just clicked today and my doubles were going in and I took my chances and got the win.'

'To be honest, I've only played eight times on TV and all my mates at work give me stick saying I've never won on TV so it's good. For me, I just want to do my kids proud.'

'It's a massive eye-opener, I grew up going to Lakeside, playing on the BDO circuit but on this side it runs like clockwork, everyone has a job and you know where you're going. Who knows what the future will hold?'
