Since winning his tour card at Q-School in January,
Pascal Rupprecht has drawn plenty of plaudits thanks to his impressive form. By year's end he is dreaming of competing at his first World Darts Championship.
Speaking following his 6-3 loss to Brendan Dolan at the
International Darts Open in Riesa, Rupprecht reflected on the start to his professional darts career. "I'm not used to playing in front of this many people. I'm happy how I played but winning is better than losing."
Rupprecht was relatively unheard of prior to Q-School and he admits he surprised himself by winning a tour card. "I thought maybe with a little bit of luck it could happen but I never thought I really had a chance to get a tour card," he says. "At first I thought I would be too nervous to play good darts because I don't have much practice playing people who also have high averages."
Casting an eye to the remainder of 2023, Rupprecht has a dream of playing at the Alexandra Palace. "I hope so, that's the goal."
