Petersen eases through to second round clash with Price, Kurz survives match dart against Bellmont

The first session of action at the European Darts Grand Prix is complete with Devon Petersen through to a second round clash with Gerwyn Price.

Petersen is coming off his World Grand Prix debut as well as his maiden triumph last time out in Hildesheim at the European Tour.

He eased past Harry Ward hitting seven 180's and despite only 6/21 on his doubles, Ward only hit a 71 average and 1/7 meaning 'The African Warrior' eased through.

For home hope Nico Kurz, he is also through but had to survive a match dart against the tricky Swiss ace, Stefan Bellmont.

Bellmont went 5-3 up on Kurz but missed double 12 for a 101 checkout for the victory leaving twelve and Kurz came back to pin double 20 and revive his hopes in the tie. From there, he went onto win and edge through.

Also edging through was Darius Labanauskas who saw off Michael Unterbuchner. He rounded out a 6-4 victory over the dangerous German. Dave Chisnall awaits him next.
