Players Championship 21 final run earns Klose major qualification

The 21st Players Championship of the year was a triumph for Gerwyn Price. In the final he dealt with the surprising German Daniel Klose.

Surprising? Yes, we might say so. After all, at the previous twenty Players Championships this year he went down twelve times in the opening round. The other eight tournaments he managed to win only one match each time.

But at the 21st tournament, Klose, who captured his Tour Card at the beginning of this year, reached the final to everyone's surprise. The 43-year-old dart player thus made a giant leap in the world rankings and climbed no less than 25 places to 101st place. Thanks to this strong performance he is almost certain to qualify for the Players Championship Finals at the end of November and still has a chance to qualify for the World Darts Championship.
