World Darts Championship sponsor Paddy Power ran a nice advertising campaign during the World Darts Championship, but the betting firm was forced to step back Wednesday night around the final between Luke Littler and Luke Humphries.
That all has to do with the fact that finalist Littler is only sixteen years old, writes the website Sports Lens. At 16, Littler is by far the youngest finalist ever in World Darts Championship history.
Because Littler is not yet eighteen, Paddy Power will not have representatives on the podium to present prizes, regardless of whether the teenager wins or not.
No Paddy Power logos will be seen on the winners and runners up trophies and the winning cheques will be presented by a member of the PDC. The betting giant also will not post any images or videos of Littler due to legal restrictions.
