Gerwyn Price was left 'questioning retirement' last night after defeat to Rob Cross in the final of the European Championship in Gottingen.
Price lost
11-6 in the final; he was the target of abuse from fans once again all weekend and afterwards aired his frustrations on the coverage saying he had more opponents than Cross.
"I had about 800 other opponents, so well done, fair play."
Price like he did previously after defeat at the World Grand Prix took to Instagram; also to air his frustrations but this time he admitted he was questioning retirement: 'Can't believe after such a short time playing darts I'm questioning retirement already.'
He later added: 'Playing in a major final should be enjoyable win or lose; but sometimes it's not the way it's meant to be.
'The bad blood will infect all you negative people in the end.'
These posts were since deleted; but as discussed all weekend it throws up the discussion whether or not something should be done about this abuse towards Price; due to it heightening with whistling in particular when he throws.
