The
Grand Slam of Darts is the next major tournament on the horizon taking place in Coventry from 16-24 November with currently 29 out of 32 of the spots now confirmed.
Gerwyn Price is the defending champion in the event after winning the tournament back to back at Aldersley Leisure Village.
Firstly, players could qualify through reaching finals or winning TV tournaments. As a result of course Gerwyn Price took a spot this way as defending champion while
Michael van Gerwen, Dirk van Duijvenbode,
Peter Wright, Glen Durrant, Dimitri van den Bergh, Luke Humphries, Jonny Clayton, Nathan Aspinall,
Gary Anderson, Adam Gawlas, Michael Smith and Rob Cross also booked their spot.
Furthermore, the highest ranked players (who had not yet qualified) received an invitation from the PDC Summer Series and PDC Autumn Series. These were James Wade and Damon Heta. A further place is on offer from the Winter Series while Ian White and Ryan Searle both are in the last two provisional spots.
Lisa Ashton joined them after winning the qualifier at the Women's Series. As well, a wild card was given to BDO World Champion Wayne Warren and BDO Ladies World Champion Mikuru Suzuki.
European Tour winners in Joe Cullen, Devon Petersen and Jose de Sousa have also qualified. While Ricky Evans, Adam Hunt, Krzysztof Ratajski, Ryan Joyce, Dave Chisnall, Simon Whitlock, Justin Pipe and Gabriel Clemens all came through the Tour Card Qualifier on Monday night.
